The Black Machine (2014)

Internet-connected installation, 58x60x130 cm.
The Black Machine is an installation that harvests nouns from online news-feeds.

The installation analyses the texts of realtime news-feeds and counts the frequency of certain negatively loaded nouns and their synonyms. The result of the analysis is display by flickering lights on a 19” industrial panel with Dymo labels (the images shown here are depicting a Danish version).

Users can combine four different newsfeeds: BBC, CNN, Fox News and Itar Tass.
The Black Machine was commissioned by Too Unstable / DIAS. And exhibited under the title "Bad Status Machine".
