”Pause” is a 5 channel video made for the Bryggen shopping mall in the city of Vejle, Denmark.

Video 1 (“Parking”) is a very slow morph of cars arriving and departing. The environment stays static and the cars are transparent and blurred.
Video 2 (“Stairs”) is a time/space-slitscan video of people on an escalator. The slitscan sequence was rendered from 11 million individual frames of shoppers using the escalator. Video 4 is a mirrored version of "Stairs".
Video 3 (“Repeat/revolve”) is a warped recording of a pick-up on a LP-record. The sound from this recording is played at the videos 2 and 4.
Video 5 (“Architecture”) is an algorithmic video slicing through a montage of images from the shopping mall.

“Pause” was commissioned by Steen & Strøm A/S as part of the Bryggen Video project. The project was curated by artists Hanne Nielsen and Birgit Johnsen.
